Une Normande a Londres, run by brothers Franck and Yann Le blais, offer the very best artisan cheeses, cured meats and preserves from across France.

They trade across many of London’s street markets including here at Portobello, Borough market and Primrose hill. They believe the heart of their success lies is their street trading at markets which allows
them to remain close to their customers.

The brothers share a deep knowledge of the French foodie scene and today I was lucky enough to speak with Yann

Q. How long have you trading at Portobello Market and what attracted you to bring your business to the area?

I’ve been trading in Portobello street for more than 15 years. We were trading in Hammersmith and customers advice us to join Portobello Market. After a quick visit, I know that was exactly the kind of place we were looking for. But that wasn’t not easy we had to apply and it’s only two years later that we manage to get a pitch.

Q. What kind of products could visitors expect to find at your stall?

We offer a very large Range of French cheeses mainly artisan and raw milk, but also a few basic not from France like Parmegiano. With time we add to our selection a nice range of Charcuterie (more than 20 flavours) and also nice french delicatessen.

Q. Do you have a personal favourite cheese you would recommend? or something a little unusual you would suggest people try

Every morning I eat a slice of Reblochon (creamy cow raw milk form the alps) in my baguette! They are all very surprising but Comté as it could be mature for few months or many years offer a wide variety of flavour.
